According to Rhett, the screenwriter for Juno is a woman of our age bracket who admits to working as a stripper for a year. The script, her first, was virtually untouched by the movie studio which is almost entirely unheard of. The story was inspired by the writer's highschool classmate.

So the hamburger phone and the sweatbands were intentional.

Then it is as I figured. She is our age so hamburger phone phone and sweatbands are just an indication that she was writing it with something from 15 years ago in her head as opposed to writing it for childers today.

We actually just saw this. TFMD, I agree I was scared it would be very similar to Napoleon Dynamite. I was pleasantly surprised.

Did Rhett watch Oprah?? The screenwriter was on last week talking about her past, the movie, etc. Not that I watch Oprah, but last week I was I had nothing better to do than wait for my swollen cheeks to deflate :-(
